The late and oh, so, so great, J Dilla. This video is essentially amateur made and won the Stones Throw video contest. Man, I used to love me some Stones Throw back in the day, and it’s nice to see one of their artists in Aloe Blacc break into the mainstream’s consciousness. 

For me this video evokes the deadly sins: lust,greed, gluttony, sloth, and envy, as well as sacrifice and Aquinas’ unofficial sin, Acedia. Coupled with Dilla’s beat, it’s a moving, though almost oddbally humorous, video. The Finns aren’t known to fuck around when it comes to making music videos for deceased musicians, and this one in particular is on some shit piping hot tip.
